Dr. Geetha Chandrasekaran is a GP and the Clinical Director of North Halifax Primary Care Network (PCN) as well as a long-standing Board Member at Pennine GP Alliance (PGPA), contributing to the Organisational Development (OD) group.
As one of PGPA’s original steering group members, Geetha has been involved since the Alliance’s inception, driven by a deep commitment to sustaining general practice and supporting local practices through times of transformation.
With over 20 years of experience as a GP Partner in Calderdale, Geetha brings extensive clinical expertise and a grounded, practice-focused perspective to the Board. She also holds a role on the Local Medical Committee (LMC) and has worked closely with Calderdale and Huddersfield NHS Foundation Trust (CHFT), offering a strong understanding of system-level collaboration and cross-sector working. Her leadership style is marked by pragmatism, a respect for differing views, and the ability to make difficult decisions when needed.
Geetha’s vision for PGPA centres on continued support for general practice while strengthening the organisation’s position within the broader health system. She believes PGPA is uniquely placed to deliver innovative, effective services at scale—supporting neighbourhood teams, improving population health, and enabling smarter ways of working. Her focus remains on ensuring PGPA acts as both a supportive network for practices and a strategic partner in shaping better health outcomes for the Calderdale community.
Geetha’s values – fairness and firmness – guide her approach to decision-making and collaboration. She supports fellow Board Members by contributing a balanced outlook and championing the importance of keeping practice needs at the heart of strategic discussions.
Outside of her professional life, Geetha enjoys baking and going for walks—both of which provide space to recharge. Her family is her grounding force.
