PGPA receive funding from the ICB to manage and mobilise GP appointments on Sundays and Bank Holidays for people living in Calderdale.
This includes:
- Onboarding GPs and managing staffing schedules
- Managing premises to host the appointments – These are always based at Queens Road surgery which is part of Spring Hall Group Practice in Central Halifax
- Monitoring patient feedback to make improvements
45 face-to-face* GP appointments are available every Sunday and Bank Holiday for anyone in Calderdale registered with a GP practice.
How to access appointments
To access these appointments, people in need of non-emergency care should ring the out of hours 111 service and respond to the questions asked by the operator. Depending on both the person’s needs and the availability of appointments, they could be booked into a PGPA GP appointment.
