Pennine GP Alliance have mobilised and manage the five Same Day Children’s Hubs running in Calderdale. We also manage the GPs who operate within them.
If a child aged 17 or under – or their parent/carer – contacts their GP practice with any of the new symptoms listed below, they are eligible for a direct appointment at the Same Day Children’s Hub for their Primary Care Network area.
Symptoms:
- Cough, sore throat, earache
- Mild rash (with no fever and no meningitis symptoms), or eczema flare.
- Abdominal pain (mild, no fever), vomiting or diarrhoea (mild)
- Asthma exacerbation (mild)
- Urine infections
- Other general unwellness
*In some instances, your child may be offered an appointment outside of your primary care network area

Parents and carers can be reassured that these hubs are designed to provide safe, same-day care for children who need urgent attention but don’t require hospital treatment. Appointments will be made through GP practices, ensuring children are seen promptly by experienced clinicians in a calm, supportive environment.
