Pennine GP Alliance (PGPA) is proud to announce its commitment as a White Ribbon Supporter Organisation, dedicated to taking meaningful action to end violence against women and girls.
By supporting the White Ribbon movement, PGPA is committed to seven key actions, including:
- Raising awareness in our communities about the importance of ending violence against women.
- Inspiring individuals to become change-makers in their personal and professional lives.
- Organising an awareness event or fundraiser to support White Ribbon’s vital work.
- Have policies and guidelines in place that protect staff and support them if they experience harassment, abuse and violence.
PGPA is also thrilled to announce that Will Menzies, Chief Executive, Pennine GP Alliance, has stepped forward as a White Ribbon Ambassador. In this role, Will will advocate for the White Ribbon Promise to never commit, excuse, or remain silent about male violence against women, both in the workplace and beyond.
Speaking on this Will said: “As an ally, I’m proud to support White Ribbon and the incredible work it does to end violence against women and girls. As an organisation, we are committed to fostering safe and respectful environments both within PGPA and in the wider community.
As part of its commitment, PGPA is actively encouraging staff members to take the White Ribbon Promise. The organisation is also working to review and update internal policies to strengthen protections against sexual harassment and other forms of gender-based violence.
Becoming a White Ribbon Supporter Organisation demonstrates PGPA’s pledge to create positive change in our communities and workplaces. By standing together, we can challenge harmful attitudes, raise awareness, and ensure that violence against women has no place in society.
